ABOUT

In 1964, the world rejoiced, for a baby was born... And even at the earliest age, Marmaduke Joel Preston - otherwise known as Marma - showed a clear gift for the culinary arts.
Rejecting his mother's milk and instead opting to nourish himself with caviar and sparkling elderflower, it wasn't long before Marma started to build an impressive CV.
After years of smashing goals and living the wild celebrity chef lifestyle, Marma felt it was time to give back a little. He now dedicates his time to teaching those less talented than himself how to recreate his heartwarming, traditional meals at home.

Marmaduke J. Preston
Head of all Head Chefs Chef, The Shard Restaurants, London 1998
The manager begged me to take the position but I was not warned of the building's great height so I had to resign promptly. Still, they were so impressed with my trial shift that I continue to win Employee of the Month every month.
Owner, Tasty Marma's, London/New York/Singapore/Barnsley, 2000-2010
Catering exclusively to Z-list celebrities and has-beens, Tasty Marma's was voted 'Best Restaurant Chain Owned by a Male Kind-of-Celebrity Chef Based in the UK Over the Age of 35 Under the age of 40 in the World' three years in a row. An instant success, the first restaurant propelled me to Celebrity Chef status overnight. A legal misunderstanding forced the chain's closure in 2010, but I maintain my innocence.
Cutlery Arts Academy, Switzerland 1981-1982
A wonderful experience learning the ins-and-outs of every aspect of the industry. This was meant to be a six year course but I did it in one.
Apprenticeship under the Master Pastry Chef, Flour Von Rollinpin 1988-1992
I took this role to expand my knowledge of baking but it turned out I knew more than Mr. Von Rollinpin and actually had to teach him some things. Awkward.
The Institute of Cookery Education, New York 1976-1979
New York in the 70s was wild. And I look amazing in flared pants.
Curriculum Vitae
Apprenticeship under the great Master Chef, Frederico De Spagyetti, 1968
I was personally requested by Mr. De Spagyetti for this role. At only 4 years of age I was able to overcome my lack of experience with natural talent, the likes of which he said he had never seen before - or since. I learned to read from looking at menus.
Le Cordin Blue, Paris 1972
At 8 years old I became the youngest person to ever study at the school. During my time here I learnt fluent French, but I choose not to speak it because it makes me miss France too much. So don't ask me to. Grazie.
